This is my main channel, where I post most of my videos. I started this channel in 2020 after I got really into watching Youtube during Covid (TomSka, Rhett and Link, Jacksfilms, Danny Gonzalez, etc.) [Side note: I find it really interesting how lots of the Youtube channels I started watching at this time were older Youtube channels. I wonder why that is and how that might have subconsciously shaped my approach to Youtube. I mean a lot of it was people making videos in their room and not doing things purely for spectacle Mr. Beast style. If I latched on to Mr. Beast or similar channels first, would I have made an attempt to make Youtube videos, or would I have felt that I didn't have the ability?] and have been posting sketch comedy or what ever else I feel like on it ever since. On this channel you can find sketches, school projects, a documentary, music, movies, and more. In 2024, I set myself a challenge to make one Youtube video a week, which I succeeded in doing, but after it was over, I was kind of exhausted and wanted to shift my focus to other creative pursuits for a while, like this website. I'll still post stuff when I feel like it though, that might just be less often since I'm working on other stuff.
This channel was named Toast Sandwich because I had been eating toast sandwiches at around the time I made my channel, and the phrase was going through my mind. After I named my channel I found out that this was apparently also a sandwich with a slice of toast in the middle and two slices of bread on the outside, which is not the toast sandwich I was thinking of. I was thinking of and eating a normal sandwich with toasted bread. Anyways if you search "Toast Sandwich" on Youtube you just get the other kind of sandwich which means my channel does not show up, which means it can be kind of hard to show people my channel when I tell them the name. Also my @ on Youtube is @ToesSandwich because @ToastSandwich was taken and my alternate version that I use on my Tumblr, "ToastSandwichdotcom", is just really long.
I have a lot of videos on my channel, so if you just want to watch the best of the best, I have a playlist for that! It might not be the most up-to-date, so I'll have to refresh it at some point, but there's still lots of good stuff on there. I also have a playlist for videos I'm in that aren't on this channel, and another one for videos I am technically in but I make up a very small part of the whole thing and are made by larger creators, not my friends.
The Schmus is a channel I made with my best friends Leah and Levi in 2022 that I am roughly 1/3 of. We have been posting absurd, self referential, non-scripted videos ever since. We also have a podcast called The Schmuscast, which is mostly long-form improv. Uploads on this channel are much less frequent than on Toast Sandwich, but that just makes a Schmus video a special occasion. Also, I just noticed this while writing this paragraph, but both of these channels have the same initials. Interesting...
This channel was named The Schmus because in late 2021, all of us were playing Quiplash, and since Among Us was popular, we had a running gag where we would give answers that rhymed with "sus". We couldn't think of many, and when the announcer said his name was Schmitty, we combined it with sus, and we kept answering "Schmus" for every prompt and dying laughing like it was the funniest thing ever. Soon after this, one of us had the idea to make a shared channel together where we could all make videos, because we each had a channel separately, and we decided to call it The Schmus. The rest is history.
